Pianist, director and narrator Pablo Zinger takes us on an anthological journey to the origins of a most beloved musical genre, from its origins in 17th century Spain to the Cuban operettas of the first decades of the 20th century. Featuring numbers from popular favorites, like Luisa Fernanda, La Revoltosa, La Gran Vía and La Tabernera del Puerto, as well as songs by key composers of the Cuban musical theater, such as Eliseo Grenet, Gonzalo Roig, Ernesto Lecuona and Jorge Anckermann, and the Cuban zarzuelas Rosa La China, María la O, Cecilia Valdés and El Cafetal.
